Consequently, we need professionally qualified and skilled managers to face the corporate challenges and this is only possible by providing world class education and training in management institutes. We at Haryana Engineering College, inculcate the same by providing conducive and congenial environment to enhance the learner’s internal and external abilities to increase their employability any where around the globe.

We have started Master of Business Administration a two year full time programme affiliated to Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra, during 2009-10 with an intake of sixty students. The curriculum prescribed by Kuruksherta University is strictly followed by the institute. We follow and practically use the pedagogy and modern techniques like Extempore, Business Plan and Games, Case studies, Mock interviews, Group discussions, Seminars, Presentations to make the study more practical and realistic. Our major emphasis is on the industry inter-face, project studies, guest lectures, interaction with experts and industrial visits.

Haryana Engineering College endeavors to provide the best opportunity to each learner to sharpen their skills making them an industry ready professional. To make the aforesaid goals achievable, we have highly skilled and qualified faculties with extra edge of corporate and industry exposure. We are having a separate placement cell which assist our students in getting placed and summer training as scheduled in the curriculum. 

 

CHAIRPERSON PROFILE

 

Dr. Dharamveer (M.Com, M.Phil, Ph.D.(Mgt) ) is an eminent academician and has been into the profession for last 10 years, teaching courses like Business Research Methodology, Business Statistics, Financial Mgt, and Financial Derivatives, currently working as Chairperson in the Department of Business Administration. He has been awarded Doctor of Philisophy in managent.

He has also undertaken assignment as visiting faculty at various Management intuitions in the region and has, so far guided several students of Management in achieving their academic goal. In addition, he has presented two research paper in International Conference, six in National Conferences besides attended many workshops on Commerce and Management at different State Universities.

 

Admission Procedure

All the seats of MBA shall be filled on the basis of the merit of the MAT test conducted by AIMA. To take an admission at Haryana Engineering College, the students are suggested to follow the procedure given hereunder.

STEP - 1

ALL INDIA MANAGEMENT APTITUDE TEST CONDUCTED BY ALL INDIA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION.

A combined written examination which tests the qualitative and quantitative aptitude of the candidate, along with general awareness of the socio economic environment is conducted by AIMA four times every year.

STEP- 2

ONLINE COUNCELLING OF THE SELECTED CANDIDATE BY STATE COUNCELLING BOARD, HARYANA.

STEP - 3

ADMISSION TO THE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME OFFERED BY THE INSTITUTE.

• Students are briefed about the activities of the institute, the various courses of the study, Career Avenues and other faculties available in the institute.

 

LIBRARY

Library is a depository built to contain books and other material for reading and study. It plays a role of heart so far an academic institution is concerned. Undoubtly, the library gains an important role to impart any type of education.  We have an exclusive full fledged computerized library for MBA with 1210 Books in number and 18 Journals in which 7 are of international level. In addition, more than ten news papers are also subscribed daily. Enrolment to the library by every student is the primary requirement. Library membership is granted for complete course of studies. All text books prescribed by the university curriculum are available in the library. Enrichment of library is a top priority of the institution.

 

COMPUTER LABORATORY

We have separate computer laboratory equipped 31 computers in number with 1.8 GHz 800M 1M L6. Round the clock computing and internet facilities through Wireless Network and ISDN connection are available in the campus. LAN structured cable networking with variety of operational and application software. This facility enables the students to update their knowledge of events, technology and other happenings of the world, thus proving very fruitful to their overall development.

LANGUAGE LAB

The art of communication in the present world needs no emphasis. To better the communicating skills of our students, HEC has established a language laboratory equipped with the several latest user friendly systems loaded with appropriate soft ware and with all the necessary attachments like head phones etc .The lab shall remain open during the working hours.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (PDP)

For a bright future, Juxtaposed to communication skills, today a well groomed personality, is the first requirement. HEC plans and will invite experts in the field to meet and interact with the students for gainful discussions and mock interviews. This will be a step towards rounding of some the angularities in the personality and to make them more team savvy. Such an exercise will start from the very first semester and are sure to earn dividends for the students.

INDUSTRY INTERFACE

We at HEC Strongly emphasizes on industry interface since we believe industry is an integral part of education, and industry inputs will help us prepare candidates who are industry ready. To help us maintain this industry interfacing, we have all our institute location in the heart of the industrial belt.

In today's knowledge-based economy, continuous learning is not an option but a necessity for most working professionals. This means constantly updating one’s skills and taking additional courses to keep abreast of developments

HOSTEL ACCOMODATION

Separate hostels for boys and girls are available in the campus of HEC. The provisions have been made to provide the students the proper facilities to live in the hostels. Both the hostels are provided with the direct line of telephone connection and round the clock security personnel are deployed for the security of students. Efforts are made to make students feel comfortable and have an environment conducive to their studies.

TRANSPORT

The College has its own fleet of buses which provides transport facilities for Ambala City, Ambala Cantt., Kurukshetra, Shahbad, Barara & Yamunanagar.

PLACEMENT CELL

The institute have constituted placement cell comprising of Placement Incharge, Placement Coordinator and student representatives takes up both summer training and final placement activities. The placement cell is constantly in touch with leading Business Organisation and has established an excellent report with them.

SUMMER TRAINING

At the end of second semester, all students will have to undergo summer training of 6-8 weeks with an industrial, business or service organization by taking up a project study. The conditions of the successfully completing the program shall not be deemed to have been satisfied unless a student undergoes summer training under the supervision of the department in the organization as approved by the department/faculty from time to time. Each student will be required to submit a project report to the department for the work undertaken during this period within one month of the commencement of the third semester for the purpose of evaluation in their third semester.

 

SECOND YEAR

During second year, in addition to compulsory papers and project studies, a student shall have to choose six optional papers in third and six in fourth semester from the list of optional papers announced at the beginning of each semester. The list of optional papers for third and fourth semester shall confine to the availability of teachers. A student will specialize in two areas by opting four papers (in major area) and remaining two papers from minor area respectively in third and fourth semester.

We at HEC are offering three areas of specilisations i.e Marketing, Finance & Human resource management.
