Mechanical Engineering Department

 

The department of Mechanical Engineering came into existence in the year 2004 and the first batch of Mechanical Engineers graduated in the year 2008. It is also one of the biggest departments, in terms of infrastructure, of the institute with an intake of 60 students. Objective of the undergraduate program is to prepare the manpower that is globally best. Most of the students, who graduate from the department, end up taking leading positions in Industry, academics and government. The department is very well equipped with computational facilities and resources both in terms of hardware and software. The department is having 16 different laboratories and all of them are equipped with latest instrument, ultra modern facilities and art of class infrastructure.

The department at present is having a team of 16 faculty members which includes professor, associate professor, assistant professor, senior lecturers and lecturers. All of them are academically strong, hardworking and are experts of their field.

 

Er. Munesh Kumar Sharma received his B.E.(Mechanical Engineering) from college of Engg. & technology, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi in the year 1993. He obtained his M.Tech from I.I.T. Roorkee in 2007 and is pursuing his Ph.D. from Uttarakhand Technical University in the field of Thermal Energy Storage.He has served for 12 years in industry and worked in the area of maintenance, process and project management. He worked as Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department of R.I.T., Roorkee for 2 years.He is working as an Associate Professor  &  Head in the department of Mechanical engineering in HARYANA ENGINEERING COLLEGE, JAGADHRI since August, 2007.He has published more than 10 research papers in national journal, conferences (national and international).His fields of interest include Thermal and energy storage material.
